Oh-CD!

CDs? Compact Discs? Remember them? Or perhaps for the younger folk; ever heard of them? While vinyl has had its revival I’m not sure CDs will. Yet CDs are still lurking around… and you know where? My house. Lots of them! In fact we have over 1300 CDs. About 10 of them are mine. The rest are my husbands!
When we were faced with making a big international move, they were close to number one on my purge list. Like really, what would we do with them, ship them all? The answer was yes; “THEY WILL NOT BE SOLD NOR THROWN OUT…I love the artwork,” hubby said adamantly. As I am a forever obliging wifey who cannot break his heart, I came up with a storage solution…naturally.

In my DO.over we:
- Turned our CDs into vinyl! Online, I found these amazing vinyl slipcovers.
- Pulled them apart! It took us probably three nights for over 1300 CDs to break the original plastic CD casings and slip the artwork and CDs into these vinyl slipcovers.
- The result: it takes 1/3 of the original space!

And then we did this:
- This cabinet (Sprutt) is from IKEA. However, there are many ways to skin your CD – such as storing them in a chest, of drawers, or bookshelf.

So what do they say? Happy husband equals happy life?? Tick. My Oh-CD is paying off with this one. 😄
